REVIEWS Escapist Magazine, Peoria, IL, February 1998 review, entire text: The Good, as their name implies, are simply that... Good. This Chicago based band is definitely worth checking out. Their music is complex enough to interest the most critical musician and catchy enough to attract the lay listener as well. The production quality is every bit as good as any big studio release out there and yet the album manages to retain a realness that is very appealing. The interesting topics covered within their lyrics will surprise you, and you may even come away a bit more educated after having listened to it. If the clever lessons within the lyrics and their well orchestrated progressions don't hook you, then the lush vocals of singers/songwriters Devin Arkin and Tony Rogers will make you a fan for sure. If you do not already own a copy of The Good's latest effort, I strongly suggest you go pick one up. You won't be sorry |
